There’s something incredibly special about getting to photograph family milestones — and when it’s your own family, it means even more. Sweet little Aelin Jude is almost one, and I can hardly believe how fast this year has flown by.
For her milestone session, we went with a warm, cozy fall theme — rich reds, rustic baskets, and, of course, plenty of shiny apples. I wanted her photos to capture that in-between season: still full of baby sweetness but starting to show all the little bits of personality that come with turning one.
The sunlight that morning was soft and golden, the perfect backdrop for her red knit romper and that contagious smile. Watching her giggle, snack on apples, and proudly hold them up like treasures reminded me why I love photographing children so much — their curiosity and joy are so genuine and pure.
This session was even more meaningful for me because Aelin is family. From her newborn photos to now, I’ve had the privilege of capturing some very special moments of her first year. These photos aren’t just beautiful memories for her parents — they’re treasures I’ll hold close, too.
If you’re considering a first birthday session or milestone photos, this age is truly one of my favorites to capture. Babies are curious, expressive, and so full of life. Whether you want something simple and timeless or a cozy seasonal setup like Aelin’s, I’d love to help you create memories you’ll cherish forever.
